Joe Thomas spent 28 years running a commercial printing press in Oakwood and Doraville printing scratch-off lottery tickets, United States postage stamps, and direct mail. He and his wife owned and ran the flower shop here in Lula. For the past 8 years, he has been a Mail Carrier for the United States Postal Service.
Thirty-two years ago, he married Patti Worley Thomas, a native Lula resident. They have an adult daughter who graduated from the University of Georgia.
His primary goal is to improve communication between City Hall and the residents of Lula. He wants controlled growth of Lula to maintain its small-town charm while attracting desirable businesses to Lula.
