District 1: Tony Cornett

Tony Cornett and his wife Amy have called Lula, GA home since 2018.  Having been residents of Cherokee and Gwinnett county, the decision to relocate to Lula was based on Lula’s unique sense of community and rural charm reminiscent of Tony’s hometown of Knoxville, TN.  While hailing from Tennessee, Tony is not new to Georgia.  He moved to Tucker, GA in 2002 to continue his career with BellSouth / AT&T where he has been employed for over 21 years specializing in information technology, business operations, and cybersecurity.  Tony and Amy (native of Lawrenceville, GA), along with daughter – Katie, and Son – Austin had moved over the years and lived in Grayson, Woodstock, and Dacula.

While Amy is active with the Lula Ladies organization,  both Tony and Amy actively support the Historical Society of Lula-Bellton.  They both became more involved when Amy served as president of the historical society at the end of 2020 as our community emerged from the COVID-19 pandemic.  In addition to spending time with family, Tony enjoys volunteering his services as a former sound engineer, so you may see him at multiple events running sound equipment for various groups, events, and churches.  Education is important to Tony, so he also volunteers to teach both youth and adults about cybersecurity through the Air Force Association’s CyberPatriots and CyberGenerations programs.

In early 2022, Tony felt called to run for city council and is grateful to all the citizens who supported and elected him where he currently serves as Lula City Council representative for District 1.
