The Planning and Zoning Commission is a five-member advisory board appointed to review and evaluate land use and development matters within the City. The Commission conducts public hearings on applications for annexations, rezonings, variances, and conditional uses, carefully considering how each request aligns with the City’s Comprehensive Plan, zoning ordinance, and long-term growth objectives.
After hearing presentations from applicants, staff, and the public, the Commission deliberates and makes a formal recommendation to the City Council to either approve or deny the request. While the Commission does not make final decisions, its review and recommendations provide the City Council with detailed analysis and community input to support informed, transparent decision-making.
